Cluster beans (scientifically known as Cyamopsis tetragonoloba) are highly nutritious, drought-resistant annual legumes. Native to India, they are popularly known as guar or gawar. The young, tender pods are widely consumed as a vegetable, while mature seeds are harvested for industrial guar gum.
