The cucumber is a creeping vine plant of the gourd family (Cucurbitaceae) that produces an elongated, edible fruit. Botanically classified as a berry called a pepo, it is widely consumed as a vegetable. It is composed of about 95% water, delivering a crisp, cooling texture and mild flavor
