The custard apple (Annona squamosa) is a tropical fruit prized for its creamy, sweet, vanilla-like flesh. Ranging from spherical to heart-shaped, it features a distinct knobby, segmented green rind and a white, fragrant, custard-like pulp embedded with shiny, inedible black seeds. Skin: Lumpy, segmented, and pale green, which transitions to yellowish-green as the fruit ripens. Texture: Soft, slightly grainy, and slippery. It is ripe when it yields slightly to pressure, similar to an avocado. Flesh: Creamy white to pale yellow.
